I managed to sneak out last Saturday to catch night 2 of this year’s Undercover Weekend and caught Jon Hardy and the Public doing a set of Randy Newman songs, The Dock Ellis Band doing an outrageously over-the-top set of Alice Cooper songs, with fake blood, a guillotine and a live snake, and three songs from LOGOS as Rush.
Below is a video of JH doing Randy Newman’s “Short People” and some photos from The Dock Ellis Band/Alice Cooper set.

Wait, is this a Gallagher show?
Uh-oh, we broke it…
Tonight is night #2 of this year’s Undercover Weekend at the Bluebird, which is actually two weekends in 2008. Last night, the bands covered classic artists from the 60’s and tonight a different set of great local bands are taking on artists of the 70’s. Next weekend sees the 80’s and 90’s tackled. Last year’s event was a ton of fun and this year’s stands to be just as good. See my photos and videos of night 1 of last year’s event here and of night 2 here.
Here are the bands playing and the artists they are covering:
The Blind Eyes – Elvis Costello
Dock Ellis Band – Alice Cooper
Jon Hardy and the Public – Randy Newman
Logos – Rush
